Several of the attractions around the Sognefjord are available all year round. The Stegastein viewpoint is one of them. If possible, it is even more beautiful during winter. It is the feeling of nature that resets itself before a new green summer season. There are much less visitors during the winter. You get more of the fjord to yourself and get closer to travelling like a local.

The unique Flåm Railway has been named the world's most beautiful train journey. You can combine the journey with the Bergen Railway so you can travel by public transport from Oslo or Bergen, and when you are in Flåm, you can go on a fjord cruise as a part of the trip. Around the Sognefjord there are lots of mountains, high mountains, some of the highest in Northern Europe. With precipitation from the west and an inland climate from the east, combined with it’s proximity to the large glacier, it means that the area has among the most stable snow conditions in the country.
