Norwegian Museum of Travel and Tourism

Norwegian Museum of Travel and Tourism in Balestrand, in collaboration with the University of Bergen, has created an exhibition about a female travel pioneer from the early 1800s, Cathrine Hermine Kølle. Over the course of 30 years, she completed 15 long journeys in Norway and abroad, carrying writing materials, drawing supplies, and a pistol in her luggage

At the Sogn Fjord Museum down by the fjord in Kaupanger, the hosts share the story of the fjord as a lifeline, travel route, and food source for the villages around the Sognefjord in earlier times. Here, you can experience the museum's largest boat: the Skåsheims Boat, built by Ole Andersen Nybø, known as "Old Risen."

The Heiberg Collections – Sogn Folk Museum

Mad or Brilliant? is the question posed at Sogn Art Center in Lærdal. Ingrid Norum has created an exhibition showcasing over 100 works by the Lærdal painter Hans Gjesme, created during his 16-year involuntary stay at Gaustad Psychiatric Hospital.
