The little fjord village

Lavik is a typical fjord village, with a history stretching back to before the Viking age. Its easy access to the fjord and mountains made it an ideal settlement location.

Easy access to Bergen

Today is Lavik a cross point and busy ferry port, and frequent  buss transport,  on the coastal road between the two big cities Bergen and Ålesund. Lavik got an easy access to Bergen via the frequent bus transport and express boat conection to Bergen.

View to the coast

The mountains here may not be as high as those deeper in the Sognefjord, but they offer expansive horizons. From Mt. Laviksåta, you can see the outer half of the Sognefjord and the coastline with its islands, where the North Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean.

Mt. Laviksåta

From Mt. Laviksåta you will have a overview of the outer half of the Sognefjord in one direction And the other way, the coastline whit all its islands and where the North Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. 

A mighty sight it is for sure.
