Where can I find motorhome waste disposal stations around the Sognefjord?
When travelling through the Sognefjord region with a motorhome or caravan, we encourage you to stay at one of our beautiful campsites. By checking in at a campsite, you will not only enjoy a scenic place to spend the night, but also have access to facilities that make your journey more comfortable, convenient and sustainable.
The campsites offer modern service facilities, including toilets, showers, electricity, laundry facilities, motorhome waste disposal stations and a safe place to park. Many campsites also provide activities and services to enhance your stay. You can rent a boat, kayak or bicycle, and receive local information and recommendations about attractions, hiking trails and experiences throughout the Sognefjord region.
Prices for a motorhome pitch start from approximately NOK 350 per night, depending on the campsite and season. For a modest price, you gain comfort, safety and a much better overall travel experience.

Please refrain from wild camping with camper vans, respect the hard work of local farmers, and avoid blocking roads in the midst of nature. To truly appreciate the wonders of this region, we warmly recommend staying at one of the 20 designated campsites. Your commitment to responsible camping ensures that the beauty of Sognefjord remains untouched for generations to come.

CAMPING ETIQUETTE
1. Use dedicated campsites and motorhome pitches whenever possible. It’s always the best choice. Staying on campsites and shopping locally promotes sustainable travel and helps support local communities.
2. Show consideration while wild camping. You may sometimes need to stay overnight at stopping places, but staying multiple nights is discouraged. Remember to camp at least 150 metres away from any buildings. Avoid camping on private property or farmland, and do not drive off-road. For the sake of road safety, do not park in passing places on narrow roads. Show consideration for your surroundings. The duty to travel without leaving a trace, damaging the terrain or disturbing wildlife always applies.
3. Take your rubbish with you. Do not leave any waste behind on your travels. Dispose of rubbish in rubbish bins. Empty toilets and wastewater at emptying stations.
4. Respect signage. You must respect any signs that prohibit parking, camping or staying overnight in motorhomes or caravans.
5. Keep at least four metres’ distance from other vehicles etc. For fire safety reasons, park at least four metres away from other vehicles etc.
