The longest fjord, the Sognefjord, lies in the heart of Fjord Norway and extends to the foot of the Jotunheimen and Jostedalsbreen National Parks. The area is both dramatic and hospitable, with exciting and invigorating activities for the whole family.
The Jostedalsbreen National Park
At 500 square kilometres, Jostedalsbreen is the largest glacier in mainland Europe. This gigantic mass of ice covers mountain peaks and deep valleys in the National Park and its spectacular arms of blue ice extend down to the lush valleys near our fjords. Many people are amazed when they realize how accessible these glacier arms are, and discover that it can be almost as warm by the ice as it is down by the fjord.
The Jotunheimen National Park
You can ramble beside the fjord, follow culture trails and historical roads or head for the mountains and enjoy unique views of the fjord, mountains and glaciers. Many places also offer guided treks, walks, glacier walking and climbing
