How to get to Skjolden

Skjolden is located at the end of the Sognefjord in Luster Municipality. 

South of Skjolden is Sogndal with apporx, 1 hour drive and from the Jostedal Valley and the Nigardsbreen Glacier it takes approx. 1 hour drive.

Scenic Route Sognefjellet

A short distance from Skjolden, you can also experience driving over the Scenic Route Sognefjellet, which is Northern Europe's highest mountain pass.

Airport

The nearest airport is Sogndal Lufthamn, Haukåsen, which is in Kaupanger. Check flight times here.

Expressboat to the Sognefjord

Every day throughout the year, the express boat from Bergen goes into the Sognefjord with a final stop in Sogndal, but from April to October it stops at Leikanger with a bus further inland to Sogndal and the boat goes on to Flåm. Check Norled's timetables here.
